CRU is pleased to share with you that our NDIS Participant Readiness funding has been extended, allowing us to offer The NDIS: Getting Informed workshops until December 2017. As part of our new contract with the state government, CRU will also be offering NDIS workshops in Logan, Gold Coast and Redlands for the first time.
These Participant Readiness workshops are funded by the state government to meet the needs of people with disability and their families. Where we have additional capacity, we will try to add a small number of sessions that are open to workers and service providers. These sessions will provide the same information with the intention of resourcing workers to assist people and families to prepare and transition to the new scheme. Information that is specifically tailored to the needs of service providers and workers can be found on the Department’s website.
CRU offers a 2.5 hour The NDIS: Getting Informed workshop which provides information about the why, when and how of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). You will learn how to access the scheme and what to do to be prepared to develop a plan with the NDIS when the time comes.
Following some of these sessions, we offer The NDIS: Sharing Practical Strategies. This is a conversation about the practical strategies that can help you feel prepared, as well as exploring ways to sharing the information about the NDIS with others in your community.
