Assisitive Technology Queensland Conference & Exhibition

The Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme is excited to be convening the Assistive Technology Queensland Conference and Exhibition running over 9-10 November, 2017 with an extra day of pre-conference workshops on Wednesday 8 November. We are looking forward to engaging with a range of people with disability and their significant others, allied health professionals, researchers and suppliers of assistive technology.

Over the three days, the tightly packed conference program includes keynote speakers presenting at plenary sessions, plenty of short presentations running in concurrent sessions, a range of workshops, an exhibition hall and live demonstrations at the See It Live Stage in the exhibition hall.

Using AT to participATe is the over-arching theme for the conference, which embraces the objective of AT users fulfilling their life roles and enhancing well-being through the use of a broad range of equipment and technologies. The conference program provides a platform for people with disability to showcase their achievements as well as highlight challenges and barriers to using assistive technology.

The conference will provide opportunities for sharing skills, advancing ideas in assistive technology and preparing for changes in relation to service provision and funding of assistive technologies with the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across Queensland. The event will also be valuable for people who are not eligible for the NDIS, an opportunity to experience the latest assistive technology and to learn more about current and future service provision. It will be an ideal forum for enhancing connections in the field of assistive technology.
